Running this competition was an absolute pleasure. We asked one simple question, 'What's your dream destination and why?' And across Instagram and Facebook, the response was overwhelming.
We were showered with creativity, compliments and … poetry. Thanks to every single person who took the trouble to enter – you reminded us of the incredible variety of travel destinations, and the myriad of unique reasons they call us.
Some destinations we’d never even heard of. Others we thought we knew, until someone described them so personally that we saw them in a new light.
Choosing a winner wasn’t easy. We were looking for something original and thoughtful, but there were so many of these. Picking a single entry felt like trying to choose a favourite country – impossible.
So we looked for a genuine dreamer – someone with a very specific destination and a clear, personal reason for being drawn there. The one-liners were great, but it was detail that shone through – signs this was a dream that had been lived in the mind for a while. Something pulling at you and not letting go.
But before we get to the winner, here are just a few of the entries we loved.

“Switzerland has always felt like more than just a dream destination—it’s a piece of my heart. Growing up, my Dad would always talk about seeing snow there one day. It was his dream… his eyes would light up just imagining it. Sadly, he never got the chance—he passed away from pancreatic cancer before that dream could come true.
I’ve never seen snow either. But one day, I hope to stand there with my kids, our little boots crunching through the snow for the very first time. “I trekked across Antarctica 🇦🇶…. my boots crunching in the snow ❄️ Majestic glaciers loomed, ancient and vast, their icy blue glow mesmerising ✨✨✨. As I marvelled at their timeless beauty, a horde of curious Emperor penguins 🐧 🐧🐧 wobbled toward me, their curious eyes 👀 gleaming ✨.. Suddenly, they sprinted, flapping wildly, chasing me down! 🏃🏻♂️➡️ Heart 💓 pounding, I dashed, snow flying beneath me. Just as I was about to dive into a crevasse, I snapped back to reality…... "Are you there, Will?" the travel doctor from Glide Online Travel Clinic asked, her voice patient. I blinked 👀, realising I was still on a video call 💻.

In the end, there was only one who could claim the prize.
