About Us
At Glide Online Travel Clinic, we are committed to improving
access to high quality pre-travel medical care.

Who are we?
Glide Online Travel Clinic is a team of Australian GPs and specialists who share a passion for travel medicine.
Our aim is to improve access to high-quality travel medicine and to increase the number of people accessing the preventive healthcare they need before going overseas.
When we set out to establish a travel medicine clinic in 2024, the medical landscape had changed. Telehealth services were widely available and pharmacies had begun offering travel vaccinations. For the first time, high-quality travel medicine could be delivered remotely.
As one of Australia’s first few online-only clinics, we are excited about the advantages telehealth can provide. We look forward to exploring telemedicine as a means to improving access to pre-travel health care, now and into the future.

FAQs
Which services are available through Glide Online Travel Clinic?
+
Glide Online Travel Clinic is designed for people who want to reduce their risks of preventable illness while travelling overseas. This includes accessing the right vaccinations, prescriptions for preventive anti-malarial tablets and other stand-by medications. Your travel doctor will also provide other advice on how to avoid common problems and stay healthy while overseas.
Prescriptions for immunisations and other medication is sent to your inbox and your doctor will recommend a local pharmacy where you can have your immunisations performed, scripts filled and pick up all your other pre-travel essentials.
Which services are not available through Glide Online Travel Clinic?
+
Glide travel doctors provide advice to medically stable travellers prior to travel. Consultations for any new illnesses or medical issues should be performed by your general practitioner prior to seeing a travel doctor. For any medical issues which arise while you are overseas you should see a doctor in the area you are travelling.
Glide Online Travel Clinic utilises pharmacist-delivered immunisations. Not all pharmacy sites are able to vaccinate children under 5 years of age. Also, pharmacies are not yet able to offer yellow fever immunisations. Take our eligibility quiz to find out if this will affect you.
In cases where you cannot be vaccinated at your pharmacy, you can still access a consult through Glide Online Travel Clinic. Your travel doctor will arrange referral to another medical service for your immunisations.
Can I use Glide for a new medical problem or non-travel related medical issues?
+
Glide Online Travel Clinic provides travel medicine advice for healthy people and those with stable long-term medical issues. People with new symptoms and other new issues are encouraged to see their general practitioner (or local emergency department for urgent problems). Once your new health problems have been addressed you can then see a travel doctor prior to going overseas.
Can I access Glide Online Travel Clinic for medical advice while I’m overseas?
+
Glide provides pre-travel consultations and preventive health advice and is not equipped to provide long distance medical care for acute health issues. For medical problems which arise while you are overseas you will need to seek out a local doctor or attend the emergency department of your nearest hospital.
Who can make a booking with Glide Online Travel Clinic?
+
Anyone 18 years or older with an upcoming overseas trip and stable health can book a travel medical consult with Glide Online Travel Clinic.
Those under 18 years can be booked in by their parent or guardian, provided both can attend the consult together. The service works best for children who are five and over. Younger children can also have a consult with Glide Online Travel Clinic, but they may need to be referred to another medical service for their vaccinations.
Can I book for my dependents?
+
Yes. If you will be travelling together, we suggest parents or guardians book for themselves first. If you can, it’s best to find a time where consecutive booking slots are available so parents and children can be seen in consecutive consults by the same doctor.
The service works best for children who are five and over. Younger children can also have a consult, but may need to be referred to another medical service for their vaccinations.
Why does the service work best for those aged five and over?
+
Regulations in NSW prevent pharmacists from administering vaccinations to people under five years old. It is still possible to obtain a travel medicine consultation with Glide Online Travel Clinic for your young child, but if they require vaccinations, they may need to be referred to another medical service.
Can I book for someone who requires an interpreter?
+
Yes. Please email us at info@glideonlinetravelclinic.com.au to arrange an appointment incorporating a telephone interpreter.
I have a disability which makes accessing a consultation with Glide difficult. What assistance does Glide provide?
+
If you are having difficulty accessing our services due to a disability, please contact us so we can find a solution that works for you.
Is Glide Online Travel Clinic covered by Medicare?
+
For children under 12 months old, a portion of the consultation fee is rebated by Medicare. See the Medicare website for details. For those over 12 months, consultations are privately billed.
Do I need to pay for vaccines?
+
There is no charge for Medicare card holders for vaccinations which are included on the National Immunisation Program schedule, provided you attend a pharmacy which participates in the NIPVIP program. These vaccinations include polio; measles, mumps, rubella; diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus; varicella; hepatitis B; pneumococcus; meningococcus ACWY; human papilloma virus; and others.
For other immunisations, like typhoid and hepatitis A vaccines, charges will depend on the pharmacy provider.
